I am: Young H'mong girl in Cat Cat Village just outside of Sapa central. She has never seen the see as her home is in the mountainous region of far North East Vietnam on the foot of Mt Fansipan. I meet her with two other girls when I climped up a small hill off the tourist trail they were herding the family water buffallo and picky wild flowers - it was surreal! This picture was taken without much expectation as she wasn't posing and had no idea what the film camera was suppose to do - they are aware of the digital since many tourists show them the picture after a shoot. I don't even know her name but her proud stance seems to convey her confidence in her culture her being and who she is.
